The Izumi Chain MFG. was established in 1916. In the century since, bicycles have developed dramatically and drivetrains became increasingly sophisticated. At every step of this development Izumi was at the forefront of innovation in bicycle chain manufacturing with advances in materials, surface treatments, and design. Today, Izumi remains family owned and operated. The company manufactures more than 4.5 million bicycle chains a year, including the legendary Super Toughness as well as chains for Shimano’s high-end road, mountain and e-bike groups, all made in Japan.
